Toadstool Corporation is a gaming company that came to fruition as a result of creating  A.R.S.  a multiplayer board game and a single-player digital game, both based on the same premise.


Fall 2019 - Healthcare IT Capstone -  Xaminate

Xaminate addresses the gap in medical school education with digital patient innovation that allows medical students to use their mobile devices to learn what it is like to care for someone afflicted with a medical condition.


Spring 2019 - Capstone Two - VetCoin

Recognizing that one in twenty-two veterans commit suicide every day, Capstone students worked to create a solution. VetCoin™ is a service dedicated to creating a more unified sense of community for both veterans and students as well as promote meaningful connections. VetCoin™ is a smart coin intended to facilitate and initiate social interactions amongst student veterans. Resembling military branches, VetCoin™ carries features such as augmented reality, geolocation, and wifi capabilities to enhance user experience.

Spring 2019 - Capstone One - VPlay

Vplay is a mobile platform designed to provide fun and interactive educational games for children ages 3-7. It uses Augmented Reality to integrate with the child's environment. Our goal is to change the behavior of children when interacting with screens. Specifically changing the epidemic of the passive use of screens and promoting an exciting and dynamic learning experience. Vplay will provide children with an app that helps parents balance the amount of screen time their children are being exposed to without removing the screen completely away, allowing children to reimagine the screen and enter the scene.

Fall 2018 - Capstone One - VetCoin

ITI students worked together to tackle the issue of isolation felt by university veterans. To bridge the gap between social students and lone wolf vets, this team has created a game by implementing a unique spin on military-style Challenge Coins. These smart coins serve as a causal agent to promote "meet-ups" in a classic PVP game scenario around campus. With the guidance of the ITI faculty, we aim to create a more unified sense of community for veterans and students alike. Participants will be creating their own meaningful connections while having fun along the way.

Spring 2018 - Capstone One - Akeso

Akeso, Inc. presents the Akeso Band - a digital medical ID band, that specializes in the speed of use, ease of use, and privacy.  The band is a precursor to a comprehensive electronic health record database infrastructure, involving the same Near Field Technology scanning that makes our band faster, easier, and safer for patients. Akeso, Inc. serves not only these patients but the medical professionals that will use them, creating efficiency and clarity within each community we serve.

Spring 2018 - Capstone Two - VoxBox 2.0

Since the initial introduction in Fall 2017 Showcase, the Capstone Two class has continued to evolve the development of VoxBox, a handheld device targeted to nonverbal children and students from ages 4 - 11 who struggle with learning.  VoxBox is a tool to help these children keep up with the pace of their peers and schoolmates by making it easier for them to communicate.  The product's software has been updated to be easier to use and the business and marketing plans have evolved as our understanding of the need for the product and potential uses have improved.

Fall 2017 Capstone project:   
VoxBox is a specialized assistive communication technology designed to help children with communication disorders in their struggle to effectively communicate with other people.  

Spring 2017 Capstone project:   
AUXO Garden provides gardeners with a kit that includes a moisture sensor, the companion AUXO app, and a beginner's box that comes with essential gardening tools.

Spring 2016 Capstone project:   
Slingshot is a STEM Education Kit designed to encourage young women to design and build technology-based products (products that contain both computer hardware and software elements).

Fall 2015 Capstone project:   
Class Quest is an interactive classroom environment designed to encourage student interaction and collaboration.
