Karla has a hybrid skill-set at the intersection of technology and business. Her background is a blend of both, which creates a unique perspective on developing and implementing digital strategies. She has been both “victim” and “torturer” when it comes to choosing and implementing technology, giving her a strategic perspective on the use of technology as a competitive weapon for the business. She has held leadership positions at The Dow Chemical Company, Honeywell International, and ITT Corporation where she served as the Global Vice President & Chief Information Officer.
After 2 years in the start up arena, she joined Axalta in 2015 as the CIO for the North America Region and the IT Leader for the Global Technology Group. Her areas of expertise are in Business driven IT strategy, Customer facing systems, ERP, and Big Data. Her passion is to help companies harness innovative technologies and win in the increasingly digital world. Karla holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and a Master’s of Business Administration Degree, area of specialty in eCommerce, from the University of Michigan.
